The fiery moon was orbiting the circular earth, which, hanging on nothing, and spinning from the east to the west in the presence of the sun, was, and still is, being carried by the sun, around the Milky Way Galaxy.

The earth was very hot when it was being heated by the sun and the moon, and the earth was covered with plants, and there were rain forests, and jungles, and giant lizards called dinosaurs were walking upon the earth.

But the moon began to cool down as it used up all of its energy, and the temperature upon the earth was lowered, and the giant cold blooded lizards all began to die, and then, the moon burned out.

It takes the moon about 29 days to travel around the earth.

The moon travels around the earth in the shape of an ellipse. The earth is also travelling around the sun in the shape of an ellipse. An ellipse is a shape that looks like the shape of an egg.

The moon continually travels from darkness to light, and from light to darkness. As the moon goes around the earth, different parts of the moon are illuminated, which leaves the other parts of the moon in the dark. These dark shapes on the moon are known as, the phases of the moon. Can you imagine the fiery moon in the sky being covered with shapes of darkness.

The phases of the moon.
There are eight phases of the moon. Commencing from the New Moon, that is the time when
the moon is dark in the sky, the phases of the moon are: New Moon, Crescent Waxing, (the
light on the moon is growing!) First Quarter, Gibbous, Full Moon, (the whole of the moon is
lit up!) Gibbous, Last quarter, Crescent Waning, (the light on the moon is getting smaller!),
New Moon, (the moon is dark again).

Why does the moon go dark?
When the moon passes between the earth and the sun, the light of the sun cannot shine on the side of the moon that we see, so the moon goes dark, but the other side of the moon, is covered with light.

The phases of the moon were different when the moon was
a consuming fire, because the sun was a greater light, than
the lesser light in the sky.

14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:
15 And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.
16 And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.
17 And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth, Genesis 1:14-17

Two lights once warmed the earth.
Two lights enlightened it's sky.
But one of the lights went out,
And all of the dinosaurs died.
