The waters wear the stones: thou washest away the things which grow out of the dust of the earth; and thou destroyest
the hope of man. Job 14:19

Stones are made of fragments..Stones are made of powder..
Stones can be broken..Stones can be broken into fragments (pieces)..Stones can be ground to powder (dust)..Dust comes from stones that have been worn down by abrasion..Water flows off the ground (gallops)..Water gushes..Water rushes..
Water runs..Water runs over..Water flows..Water overflows..
Water rinses..Water washes..Water washes away..Water thor-oughly washes away..Water cleanses..Water innundates (floods)..Water overwhelms..Water drowns..Water conquers..
Water is a conquerer..Sticks, and twigs, and branches, and limbs, and leaves, and fruit, seeds, and trunks of plants that grow out of the dust of the earth, fall to the ground.

Flowing, running, rushing, galloping, gushing, flooding water, beats upon ragged, jagged, rough, and sharp stones, and the stones are made smooth as particles of dust are worn from their ragged edges, and ragged, jagged, rough, and sharp stones are moved and washed away, in the flowing, running, rushing, galloping, gushing, flooding water, and the ragged, jagged, rough, and sharp stones knock, and beat upon one another, and stones are broken to pieces, and the pieces join together with dust, and sticks, and twigs, and branches, and limbs, and leaves, and fruit, and seeds, and trunks, in the flowing, running, rushing, galloping, gush-ing, flooding water, and they beat and fall upon, and rip open, the surface of the earth and they break, and grind, the earth to dust, and the earth is polished and cleaned.

Comminate: reduce to small portions (fragments).

Attrition: friction, abrasion, rubbing away, constant wearing down, weaken, war of attrition, destroy.

Triturate: Grind to paste, grind to powder.
