Job 28:5

Beneath the surface of the earth fiery, flaming, burning, hot, molten rock is turning upside down. During volcanic activity the molten rock escapes onto the earth where it cools down and solidifies forming rock.

Igneous rock is produced from the cooling and solidification of molten rock from within the earth.
Molten rock that cools and solidifies upon the surface of the earth is called extrusive igneous rock. Intrusive rock is the igneous rock that forms as magma slowly cools and solidifies beneath the surface of the earth.

Major specimens of igneous rocks..Basalt, diorite, felsite, granite, obsidian.

Basalt is a black rock that formed in sheets from lava that rapidly cooled after flowing out of volcanoes.
Basalt is lava, it is used in buildings, pavements and roads.

Diorite is made from magma that cooled slowly deep within the earth. It is of a dark colour because it is made of dark minerals such as, feldspars and hornblende.

Felsite is made from rapidly cooling lava. The lava of felsite cooled faster than basalt and granite. Obsidian cools faster than felsite. Felsite rocks are red, yellow, green, and or gray. They are made from light coloured lava.

Granite is a common igneous rock, which was made from magma that cooled very slowly deep beneath the surface of the earth. It is made of light coloured quartz, feldspars, and dotted with dark spots of mica. Granites are usually brown, yellow, pink, red, and or a mixture of colours.

Obsidian is the fastest cooling lava. It is a natural glass which is found in many colours.
